More about the Ford/New Holland TW5

Ford/New Holland started producing the TW5 Tractor in 1983 and continued until 1986. Make sure you have access to your tractor serial number, because there is a chance that the Ford/New Holland TW5 parts you need depend on that serial number. Usually, the serial number is printed under forward right grill panel. That serial number is determined by the year of manufacturing, so for a 1983 model, it starts with C694500, for a 1984 model it starts with C707400, for a 1985 model it starts with C732600, for a 1986 model it starts with A915854, for a 1987 model it starts with A917560, for a 1988 model it starts with A919438, for a 1989 model it starts with A922535, for a 1990 model it starts with A925099. Some Ford/New Holland TW5 Tractors have a 4x2 2WD chassis, but there are also some with a 4x4 MFWD 4WD (optional) chassis, all equipped with hydrostatic power steering. They also have differential hydraulic wet disc brakes. The type II 3-point hitch is very reliable. It is also worth noting that the independent rear PTO runs at 540/1000 rpms. The Ford/New Holland TW5 has a live hydraulics system with a 18.25 gal [69.1 L] capacity. The pump does the job pushing 16 gpm [60.6 lpm] fluids in the hydraulics system.
