About the John Deere 1070

The first John Deere 1070 Tractors went out of the factory gates in 1989 and they kept building them until 1998. Make sure you have access to your tractor serial number, because there is a chance that the John Deere 1070 parts you need depend on that serial number. Usually, the serial number is printed below the PTO on the rear of the transmission case. That serial number is determined by the year of manufacturing, so for a 1989 model, it starts with 001001, for a 1990 model it starts with 001338, for a 1991 model it starts with 100001, for a 1992 model it starts with 115001, for a 1993 model it starts with 120001, for a 1994 model it starts with 130001, for a 1995 model it starts with 140001, for a 1996 model it starts with 150001, for a 1997 model it starts with 160001, for a 1998 model it starts with 170001. Some John Deere 1070 Tractors have a 4x2 2WD chassis, but there are also some with a 4x4 MFWD 4WD (optional) chassis, all equipped with hydrostatic power steering. They also have differential wet disc brakes. The type I 3-point hitch is very reliable. It is also worth noting that the live*Two-stage clutch rear PTO runs at 540 rpms.
