More about the John Deere 8100

The first John Deere 8100 Tractors went out of the factory gates in 1995 and they kept building them until 1999. Be sure to look for any serial number comments in the part fit notes. In some cases, the John Deere 8100 Tractor parts you need depend on your serial number. You can find the serial number on the rear of the tractor, above the PTO shaft. Serial numbers include 1001 from 1995 models, 4001 from 1996, 10001 from 1997, 20001 from 1998, 24001 from 1999. Some John Deere 8100 Tractors have a 4x2 2WD chassis, but there are also some with a 4x4 MFWD 4WD chassis, all equipped with hydrostatic power steering. They also have differential hydraulic wet disc brakes. The type 3/3N 3-point hitch is very reliable, capable to lift 10,400 lbs [4717 kg]. It is used with an electro-hydraulic draft sensing. It is also worth noting that the independent rear PTO runs at 1000 (1.75) rpms.
