The Massey Ferguson 175 tractor replaced the popular 165 model when it finished production. The MF 175 was also a successful tractor, lasting for 11 years until 1975 when its production run ended and the 275 model took over. The tractor has a choice of engine, which can be either the Perkins A4.236 diesel engine or the Perkins AG4.236 gasoline engine. The first option is a 4-cylinder liquid-cooled: 3.9 liter for an Engine Size and sitting on 2WD Chassis - this would be the Perkins A4. There were two transmissions available for the Massey Ferguson 175. The more common one had 6 gears forward and 2 in reverse, while a Multi Power transmission had 12 forward gears and 4 in reverse. The MF175's category 2, 3 point hitch has a maximum lifting capacity of 1528 kg (3370 lbs). The Massey Ferguson 175 weighs up to 5925 pounds with the gas power engine while weighing up to 6125 pounds with diesel. Maximum safe load is 9555 lbs. The MF 175 is 1.84 meters in width (72.8 inches) while it's 3.5 meters long (138 inches). The wheelbase measures 2.08 meters (81.9 inches), but the MF 175 does not come with a roll bar by default, so many farmers welded one on themselves which complicates repair In the 1940s, these tractors were popular and they remain so today. Farmers in particular still find them to be a great machine for farming - you may even see one on someone's property when not at a farmers' show.
